Hello and welcome! My name is Rowena Mabbott and I am an energy and lifestyle coach, and aspiring writer. I am passionate about seeing the positive in situations and enjoying the special moments in the everyday that remind us we live in a world where we can experience joy, hope and love.
A big part of why I am here, as a coach and writing this blog, is because more than 7 years ago my second son was stillborn. After a period of intense sadness and a lot of grief, I went on to have another beautiful son and experience many joyful, happy and love-filled moments.
But that journey had tough times where I questioned whether I would be ok, if my marriage would survive or whether somehow my first son would be irrevocably harmed by my sadness and grief. Thrown into the mix was the usual challenge of trying to be it all and have it all. Yet I came through the other side with a renewed passion for life and an appreciation for the little things that remind us that life is precious and is there to be enjoyed.
My purpose in life now is to help other women transform their lives from one of experiencing the pain of loss, unwanted change, anxiety, challenge and imbalance to a balanced, happy life. I do this via my blog and coaching practice.
Through my coaching practice I work with women to overcome the blocks that hold them back, help them achieve and surpass their goals and live a transformed life full of joy, hope and love. Through my blog and writing I hope to share my journey and learning. I aim to help other women feel less alone in the world and in my own way, impact life for the better.
My intention with this blog is to shine a light for women, and mums in particular, to help them remember, rediscover or find the joy, hope and love in their lives. It is as simple as expressing joy in the beauty of the current day, having hope that tomorrow will be even better than today, and experiencing love for the life we are living.
Blog posts may be on the simple things; little things we can do to lift our happiness, or a post about the feelings and actions we take on as parents, bereaved or otherwise. I will share insight and experiences, provide reassurance and guidance and be a trusted friend when you need someone to reach out to – to feel more positive, to live a balanced life and feel more fulfilled as women and mothers.
Posts will also be about change and coping with change. My life experiences have shown that change unforeseen or anticipated can be a stressful experience for many (myself included), and many of us long for someone to tell us “It’ll be Ok”. That simple reassurance can mean a lot when we are angst ridden, grief-stricken or feeling overwhelmed and stressed. There will be an “It’s Ok…” series of posts specifically for this purpose! I will (hopefully) be that voice of reassurance that you can turn to and read, reread and share in those times when you are not feeling joy, hope or love. Not just a reassuring voice posts will include specific actions or tips to help you cope with what you are experiencing, be it unwanted change, grief, anxiety or feeling overwhelmed.
I’d love you to join me on this adventure. Together, let’s move through and past sadness, anxiety and unwelcome challenges, and look to appreciate the beauty in the everyday, embracing a life full of joy, hope and love!
